Riverfront Park Engagement
I spent my entire Saturday morning last weekend looking out the window every five minutes. Why? Because Steven and Sarah had scheduled their engagement photos for that afternoon and the weather was TERRIBLE all morning. Dark, stormy and insanely windy. I drove to Riverfront Park and right before the lovebirds arrived, the skies cleared and the sun came out. It turned into a stereotypically beautiful fall day in Denver. It was amazing!
This pair is made up of a Denver Native (which is very rare) and a North Dakota transplant (Sarah) whose family hails from my hometown of Ada, MN. Her Aunt Kathy is perhaps my FAVORITE blog follower (besides my mom of course) and it is thanks to her that I got to spend the day with her lovely niece and soon to be husband. I’ve posted some of my favorites and am nervous to hear if aunt Kathy approves or not. : )

Just love these two! What fantastic smiles and personalities. I can only hope that all future engagement shoots are as enjoyable as this one. Sarah and Steven, thank you for being so amazing!
Baby Turano
Its funny…getting older. We all used to look forward to getting together late night at a bar, or a party, and would end up hanging out until the wee hours being mischievous.
Well, times have changed. NOW we look forward to getting together to celebrate kids 1st birthdays, new homes, and baby showers. Some of the elements are the same, but many look a little different. Regardless, it’s always so nice to get the group together to celebrate one of our own on whatever their new adventure might be. This time, it was the gorgeous Miss Amy who is expecting a baby boy this November. We can’t WAIT to meet him. : )
Playing Tourist
Some of my favorite women in the world came to visit a few weeks back. Two of them have been to Colorado many times before, but for one it was a first. I put on my tour guide cap and we covered some major ground and popular sights in the four days they were here.
On one of the days (and the only day I got out my camera) we headed to Garden of the Gods for an evening stroll. It had been nearly 8 years since I’d been, and it was nice to have a reason to go again.
Here are some snapshots of this beautiful, beautiful state I’m lucky to call home.
Cañon City, Colorado.
This post is mostly just for my mom. : )
Her dad, my grandpa, came to Colorado recently for a funeral. He stayed with us the few days he was here, and while in town we took him to Cañon City to visit his big brother Virgil. These are just some snapshots from the lovely spring day we spent with the pair of geezers. : )

Punta Mita
Jon and I went to Punta Mita back in early February with his company. Last year, the trip was in Costa Rica (read parts one and two) and we had such a great time. This year was no different. The resort was breathtaking and we both got some incredible R & R.
I decided to only bring one camera with one lens to avoid feeling tethered to my camera bag. It worked out great! I didn’t even take my camera out of the room, except for once. The third or fourth day Jon had an early golf round, so I took the morning to watch the sun rise, wander the grounds, and snap some photos to bring home. It’s a pretty refreshing way to do it. The company has hired photographers at the resort and they are pretty great about getting photos of us, which gives me the freedom to leave my camera behind. I don’t have any great stories like last year, so I’ll just let the photos do the talking.
Here are some iPhone photos and the shots from the photographers. I should mention, we were there over Bronco’s Super Bowl weekend, hence the football photos.

The only four in the whole place from the Denver office!

Cheering what I think was the ONLY good thing the Broncos did the entire game.
Things are starting to get ugly at this point. Well, cheers to next year?

They always do an excursion day where you can choose from about 30 options and go have some fun. We chose whale watching and snorkeling and this was the only time I wished I would have had my beautiful zoom lens because the whales were out of control. It was incredible.

What? Don’t tell me you’ve never been tempted. : )

Fancy dinners and cocktails parties filled the evenings with a costume party to send us out with a bang on the last night.
The theme this year was Prohibition Era. I went the flapper route and Jon, utilizing his creative juices, went as a speak easy bartender serving ‘moon-shine’.
He’d moon ya and then shine a flashlight in your face. Some people got it, most just thought he was wearing a butt. I thought it was hilarious and it only matters what I think, right?
It was a fun week and more important it was filled with fun new experiences with my favorite guy. Thank you for reading! I’ve got a few more posts in the works so check back this week!
